Granville County, NC - Indenture - Kendrick to Gilbert, 1762

Kendrick   This Indenture made the Eighth day of February in the second year
   to      of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord the third by the Grace of God 
Gilbert    of Great Britain France and Ireland King & defender of the faith &c 
 Examd     and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred & Sixty 
two Between William Kendrick of Granville County in the province of North 
Carolina of the one part and John Gilbert of the County of Brunswick in the 
Colony and Dominion of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said 
William Kendrick for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five pounds 
Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid or secur’d to be paid at or 
before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said 
William Kendrick  doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained and sold 
alien’d Enfeoffed Released and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant 
Bargain and sell alien Enfeoff Release and Confirm unto the said John Gilbert 
his heirs and assigns forever all that part of a Tract of land of five hundred 
and fifty seven acres Lying and being in the County of Granville Containing one 
hundred and fifty seven acres be the same more or less as divides By a Line 
between the aforesaid William Kendrick and William Banks and also the Reversion 
and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services thereof and also all 
the Estate Right title property Interest Claim and Demand Whatsoever of him the 
said William Kendrick of in and to the said. Land and premises and of in and to 
every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said part or parcel of 
Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Gilbert his heirs 
and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the him the said John Gilbert 
his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Kendrick doth Covenant and 
grant to and with the said John Gilbert that he  the said William Kendrick the 
said Division or parcel of land and premises against.him and his heirs and 
against all and every other person and persons will warrant and forever Defend 
by these presents unto the said John Gilbert his heirs and assigns forever  In 
Witness Whereof the said William Kendrick hath hereunto set his hand and Seal 
the day and year first above Written.

   At a  Court held for Granville County 9th Febry 1762.
This Deed was proved by the Oath of James Kendrick one of the subscribing
Witnesses thereto and on Motion it was Ordered to be Registered
