Granville County, NC - Indenture – Kendrick to Macon, 1755 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Granville County Deed Book B, pages 388-389 Kendrick to Macon Examd Sept. 1755 This Indenture made this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty four Between William Kendrick of Granvill County in the province of North Carolina of the one part and Gideon Macon of the County & Province afsd of the other part Witnesseth that the sd. William Kendrick for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighteen pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the sd. Wm. Kendrick doth hereby acknowledge Hath Granted Bargained & Sold Alien’d Enfeoffed Released & Confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant Bargain & Sell Alien Enfeoff Release & Confirm unto the said Gideon Macon his heirs & assigns all that Tract or parcel of Land situate lyeing & being in the County of Granvill on the North side of Shocos Creek containing by estimation Two hundred Acres of land be the same more or less & Bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a Red Oak thence Runing North 190 pole to a pine then West 220 pole to a hicory then South 140 pole to a White Oak on the Creek aforesd. And down the meanders of the same to the first station and also the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents & Services thereof and also all the Estate Right Title property Interest Claim & demand whatsoever of him the said Wm. Kendrick of in & to the sd. Land & premises & of in & to every part & parcel thereof To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land & premises with the Appurtenances unto the sd. Gideon Macon his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the sd. Gideon Macon heirs & assigns forever & the sd Wm Kendrick for himself his heirs Excrs & Admrs doth Covenant and Grant to & with the sd Gideon Macon his heirs & assigns firmly by these presents that he the sd. Wm. Kendrick is the true & lawful owner of the abovementioned premises & hath full power and Lawful authority to Sell & Dispose of the same & that he the sd Gideon Macon his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time & for all times for ever hereafter have hold use occupy & possess & enjoy the sd. Abovementioned Land & premises with the Appurtenances and free & clear from all Incumberrances whatsoever and also that he the sd Wm. Kendrick his heirs Exs. & Adms. Or any other person whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them, and also that he the sd. Wm. Kendrick his heirs Exs. & Adms. Shall & will from time to time & at all times for ever hereafter upon the reasonable request of the sd. Gideon Macon his heirs or Assigns make do & execute all & every other Lawful & Reasonable Act & Acts for his further better & more perfect Conveying the abovementioned Land & premises unto the said Gideon Macon his heirs or Assigns when thereunto required.
