Granville County, NC - Indenture – Kendrick to Kendrick, 1758

To all to whom those presense shall com Greeting.  Know ye that I William 
Kendrick of Granville County of & in consideration of the natural love which I 
have & bear to my beloved son James Kendrick have given & Granted & by these 
presence do hereby clearly and absolutely give and Grant unto the sd. James 
Kendrick his heirs & assigns for ever the plantation whereon he now lives 
together with all his land lying between the folly branch & the next branch 
below containing one hundred acres be the same more or less, To have and to hold 
the above said plantation and land to him the sd James Kendrick his heirs or 
assigns and to the only proper use and behoof of him the said James Kendrick his 
heirs & assigns for ever and the sd William Kendrick for him self his heirs & 
assigns doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the sd James Kendrick his 
heirs & assigns that he the sd Wm. Kendrick now is the true and rightful owner 
of the sd plantation and land above mentioned & also that the sd. James Kendrick 
his heirs & assigns shall & may at all times hereafter peaceably and quietly 
have hold posess and enjoy the abovesd plantation and land without the _____ 
____ hindrance molestation or interrumtion of him the sd Wm. Kendrick his heirs 
& assigns and of all other person or persons whatsoever  In Witness whereof the 
sd. William Kendrick hath hereunto set his hand and seal this fourth day of 
March Anno Dom. One thousand seven hundred & fifty eight.

This Deed was proved by the Oath of John Hawkins one of the Witnesses thereto to 
be the Act & deed of William Kendrick and on motion it was Ordered to be 
Register’d
