THIS INDENTURE Made this sixteenth day of March in the Year of our Lord One 
Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Between Thomas Owen of the County of Granville 
& state of North Carolina of the one part & John Wilkerson of the County & 
State aforesaid of the other part  Witnesseth that the said Thomas Owen for & 
in consideration of the sum of fourteen pounds proclamation Money to him in 
hand paid by the said John Wilkerson at & before the ensealing & delivery of 
these presents the receipt whereof the said Thomas Owen doth hereby 
acknowledge hath granted bargained sold & delivered & by these presents do 
give grant & bargain & sell unto the said John Wilkerson his heirs & assigns 
forever a Certain parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the county & state 
aforesaid on the Waters of Geofrey (?) Creek and Bounded as follows, to wit, 
Beginning at a Corner white Oak thence by David Wilkersons line South 102 
poles to a black Oak thence along the said John Wilkersons line west 60 poles 
to a black Oak thence along the said John Wilkersons line South 220 poles to a 
hickory thence west 128 poles to a post Oak in Simmons’s line thence along his 
line North 322 poles to a red Oak thence east to the first Station containing 
by Estimation Three Hundred & Seventy Eight acres be the same more or less 
together with the Reversion & reversions Remainder & remainders rents & Issues 
thereof with the profits appurtenances Claims & demands whatsoever of him the 
said Thomas Owen To have & to hold the said track or parcel of Land and 
premises together with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise 
appertaining to the said John Wilkerson his heirs & assigns forever & the said 
Thomas Owen doth warrant & agree to & with the Said John Wilkerson his heirs & 
assigns forever that the sd Thomas Owen the above tract of Land & premises 
shall & will for himself his heirs & every other person or persons whatsoever 
will warrant & forever defend the above Lands & premises by these presents In 
Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand & seal the Day & Year first above
