THIS INDENTURE Made this thirtieth day of January in the Year of Our Lord one 
thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Nine Between Hardy Reeves of Granville County 
& in the State of North Carolina of the one part & Lewis Page of the sd County 
of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Hardy Reeves for & in consideration 
of the Sum of one Hundred & thirty pounds proclamation Money to him in hand 
paid by the sd Lewis Page at or before the ensealing & delivery of these 
presents the Rect whereof the sd Hardy Reeves doth hereby acknowledge hath 
given granted bargained Sold aliened Released made over conveyed & confirmed 
unto the sd Lewis Page his heirs & assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel 
of land Situate lying & being in the County of Granville lying on the branches 
of Tabbs Creek containing Two hundred acres be the same more or less & is 
bounded as followeth to witt Beginning at Hicks corner Red oak in Reeves line 
running Reeves line west one hundred & eighty eight poles to a corner in James 
Jolle (?) line then said (?) line South one hundred & fifty Six poles to a 
pine then Si-- other line west forty poles to a Red oak then east one hundred 
& Eighty poles to a red oak & pine Sapling in Hicks line then North one 
hundred & fifty poles to the Beginning To have & to hold the aforesaid granted 
& bargained premises withall & Singular the Rights benefits privileges & 
appurtenances to the same belonging or anywise appertaining thereto unto the 
sd Lewis Page his heirs & assigns forever & the sd Hardy Reeves doth by these 
presents warrant & defend the sd granted & bargained premises unto the sd 
Lewis Page his heirs & assigns forever free & clear of all manner of 
Incumbrances (sic) & from the Just claim of any person or persons whomsoever 
In Testimony whereof the sd. Hardy Reeves hereunto Set his hand & Seal the day
