Granville County, NC - Indenture - Edwards to Roberson, 1755 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Granville County Deed Book B, pages 469-470 Edwards This Indenture made the thirteenth day of August in this year of to our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & fifty five Between Roberson Charles Edwards & his wife Mary Ann in the Province of North Deed Carolina in the County of Granville of the one part and Nicholas Robbinson of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Edwards with Mary Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of forty five pound current money of Virginia to him in hand paid at the Infeofing and Delivery of these presents by the said Nicholas Robbinson the Receipt whereof the sd. Charles Edwards with Mary Ann his wife do hereby acknowledge & therewith satisfied by these presents have Granted Bargined & Sold Promised Released and Confirmed and by these presents do freely & absolutely Grant Bargin Sell, Promise Release & Confirm unto the sd Nicholas Robberson his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred & twenty five acres be the same more or less an bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at the mouth of the sd. Edwards’s old Spring Branch & then running up the sd. Branch to Israel Robbersons line then along the sd. Robberson’s line to a corner Red Oak thence along the sd. Line to the little Creek then running down the Southside of the little Creek to the beginning place it being old patton Land and taken by Israel Robberson & acknowledged to Henry King Junr. In Edgcomb Court & acknowledged to the sd. Charles Edwards by the sd. Henry King in Granville Court the sd. Two hundred & twenty five Acres be the same more or less situate lying & being in Granvil County as aforsd. With all & singular its rights Members & Appurtinances together all houses Eddifices Building Orchard Garden Woods & Underwoods Ways Water & Water courses Advantage Profits Hereditiments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the sd. Parcel or pece of Land & premeces or to any part of parcel theire of belonging or in any ways appertaining and the over Reversions & Remainders Rents & Profits of the before mentioned premeces and every part & parcel thereof with mor & of their Appurtenances unto the sd. Nicholas Robberson his heirs and Assigns for evermore And the sd. Charles Edwards with Mary Ann his wife for themselves do covenant promise grant and agreed to & with the sd. Nicholas Robberson his heirs & Assigns that the sd. Charles Edwards with Mary Ann his wife & their heirs &r. they have hearby granted and sold promise with theirs and every of theirs appurtenances unto the sd. Nicholas Robberson & his Assigns for ever shall and will warrant & for ever defend the same by these present agains any person claiming or to claim what so Ever and the sd Charles Edwards with Mary Ann his wife do further covenant promise and agree to & with the sd. Nicholas Robberson his heirs & assigns that at some Court held for the County Granville he will with his wife Mary Ann Acknowledge Those presents in due form of Law and finaly shall make acknowledge and execute such further act & acts, thing & things diversassurances in the Law what So Ever by the said Nicholas Robberson his heirs shall be reasonable devis’d advise or required In Witness whereof the sd. Charles Edwards with his wife Mary Ann have hereunto set there hands and Seales this 13th day of August 1755.
