Granville County, NC - Thomas Walker to James Walker, 1753 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Granville County Deed Book B, page 148 This Indenture made the fifth Day of March in the twenty sixth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c. and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred fifty three between Thomas Walker of the County of Granville in the Province of North Carolina of the one part and James Walker of the aforesaid County & province of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Walker for and in Consideration of the sum of Twelve pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid at or before the sealing & Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof the said Thomas Walker doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and Sold Aliened enfeoffed released and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell alien enfeoff Releases & Conform unto the James Walker his Heirs and his Assigns a certain piece or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in the said County of Granville on the south side or six pound Creek being Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land which the said Thomas Walker Bought of William Kendrick Beginning at a Spanish Oak by the side of the Creek aforesaid and Runing an East Course through the low grounds to a branch which is the said Thomas Walkers spring branch from thence a long the said branch to the head of it thence an East Course to his line thence along the said line Runing a North course to a White Oak thence West 190 poles to a Black Walnut on ajd Creek aforesaid thence up the said Creek to the beginning Containing by Estimation Two hundred Acres of Land be the same more or less. And also the Reserving Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents & Services thereof and also all the Estate Right title Property & Interest Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Walker of in & to the said Land and Premises and of in & to every Part and parcel thereof To have and To hold the sd. Piece or & Parcel of Land & Premises or with the appurtenances unto the said James Walker his heirs and Assigns to the only proper Use and behoof of the said James Walker his Heirs & assigns for ever and the said Thomas Walker doth Covenant and Grant to & with said James Walker that he the said Thomas Walker the aforesaid piece or parcel of Land and Premises against the Claim of him the said Thomas Walker and his Heirs will Warrant and for ever Defend by these Presents unto the said James Walker his Heirs and Assigns for ever.
