THIS INDENTURE Made this -- day of September in the Year of our Lord Christ 
One thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty four Between Wyatt Wilkerson of Granville 
County in the State of North Carolina of the one part & Caleb Crews of the 
same County & State of the other part  Witnesseth that the sd. Wyatt Wilkerson 
for & in consideration of the Sum of One Hundred pounds Virginia Currency to 
the sd. Wyatt Wilkerson doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained 
sold aliened released made over conveyed & confirmed unto the sd. Caleb Crews 
his heirs & assigns forever One certain tract or parcel of Land Situate lying 
& being in Granville County & on the Waters of Tar River Containing One 
Hundred & forty acres be the same more or less & is bounded by the lines of 
Richard Searcy William Malory Robert Lewis Archibald Mitchel & Reuben Searcy.  
To have & to hold the aforesaid granted & bargained lands & premises with all 
& Singular the rights benefits privileges & appurtenances to the same 
belonging or in anywise appertaining thereto unto the sd. Caleb Crews his 
heirs & assigns forever & the sd. Wyatt Wilkerson doth hereby warrant & will 
forever defend the sd granted & bargained lands & premises with every of their 
appurtenances unto the sd. Caleb Crews his heirs & assigns forever to be free 
& clear of all Manner of incumbrances (sic) & from the just claim of any 
person or persons whatsoever  In Testimony whereof the sd. Wyatt Wilkerson 
hath hereunto Set his hand & Seal the day & Year above Written ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
