C. Serv. 6 Feb. 1843, Pension papers Vol. 194... W 8992. Asa Searacy, Frances Weathered or Weatherhead former widow. N.C. Line & Indian War. Srv. W8992. Soldier was a son of Reuben Searcy & was born in parat of Bute Co. that became Granville Co., N.C. Soldier's mother stated soldier's stated soldier's first wife was the sister of Major Pleasant Henderson of Chapel Hill, N.C. & later Carroll Co., Tn. & he also served in the Rev. Army. Soldier lived in Granville Co., N.C. at enlistment & after the Rev. he moved to the headwaters of Holston River in what later became TN then moved to Madison Co., Ky. & served from there under Gen. St. Clair & Gen. A. Wayne and he later moved to MS where he died at Greenville, M.S. in 1815. Soldier had md. 2nd to Frances, d/o Stephen Jett of Granville Co., N.C. early in 1783 & after soldiers death his wid. md. 2nd Francis Weathered or Weatherhead in Sumner Co., Tn. And he died in the fall of 1830 or 31. Widow applied 6 Feb. 1843 in Hickman Co., Ky. age 78. Soldier and widow had 2 ch.: Archibald Searcy & Elizabeth bn. 19 May 1788 & she md. Joshua Smith in Sumner Co., Tn. on 27 Mar 1807 & he (Joshua) was aged 57 in 1842, a resident of Hickman Co., Ky. Soldier's father, Reuben Searcy md. during the Rev. War to his 2nd wife, Elizabeth, the daughter of Stephen Jess & she was the sister of his son's wid. & soldier's said father moved from Granville Co., N.C. to Sumner Co. Tn. and was living in 1807. Soldier's bro. Thomas Searcy, was referred to & soldier's sister md. Stephen White of Madison Co., Ky. Soldier's ½ sister, Jane Rogers, made affidavit 6 Jan. 1843 in Henry Co., Tenn. One Alexander Henderson of Holly Springs, MS made affidavit in Madison Co., Tn. in Dec. 1842 & stated he was a nephew of Maj. Pleasant Henderson & Samuel Henderson & a cousin of Thomas Searcy (b/o Asa) & that all of them lived at one time in Rockbridge Co., Va. The said Alexander Henderson was age 61 in 1842 in Carroll Co. TN. & a P. Henderson Jr. & Teps Henderson were his Wit
