Sidney I. Davis

Youngsville – Funeral services for Sidney I. Davis, 82, will be held at 
Good Hope Christian Church in Granville County Saturday afternoon at 3 
o’clock, conducted by the Rev. E. M. Carter of Youngsville assisted by 
the Rev. S. E. Madren. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He died at 
his home near Youngsville Friday morning after an extended illness. 

Mr. Davis was born in Granville County May 30, 1861, son of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Ruffin Davis. 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cornelia Davis; nine children, Neon Davis 
and Otis Davis of the home, Ernest and Roland Davis of Route 1, 
Youngsville, Mrs. Mary Allen, Mrs. Atlas Allen and Mrs. Cora Perry of 
Raleigh, Mts. Quincy Lowery and Bruce Davis of Wake Forest; 26 
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
