Former Sheriff Dies at 83

Youngsville – Funeral services for J. Ennis Davis, 83, retired farmer 
who was sheriff of Granville County for six years, who died Thursday, 
will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Good Hope Christian Church by the 
Rev. A. J. Conyers. Burial, church cemetery, Masonic rites.

Davis was a prison farm supervisor for North Carolina for 12 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Vivian Davis of the home and Mrs. Charlie 
G. Dark of Siler City; a son, J. Ennis Davis, Jr. of the home, a brother, 
Clyde Davis of Rt. 1 Youngsville; three grandchildren.
