Leslie Herbert of Franklinton North Carolina was born on September 27, 1917 in 
Granville County, North Carolina.  On January 25, 1973 he departed from this 
life to a home everlasting.

Upon reaching manhood he moved to New Jersey where he met and married the 
former Norsey Grissom also of Granville County.  For thirty years he made 
their home in New Jersey where their two daughters were born, reared, and 
educated.

After insuring that his family was provided for he and his wife returned to 
their home state of North Carolina.  It was here that he truly loved and had 
ofen thought to return.

He was a deacon and member of he Pine Grove Baptist Church in Creedmore, North 
Carolina.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Norsey; two daughters, Mrs. Lennell Sapp 
of East Orange, NJ and Miss Joe Ann Herbert also of East Orange; three sisters 
Mrs. Minnie Kersey of Orange, NJ, Hallie M Dickerson of Orange, NJ and Getrude 
Duncan of Philadelphia, Pennylvania; two brothers Wylie of Lawnside, NJ and 
Ashville Herbert of Lakewood, NJ; along with a host of relatives and friends 
in New Jersey and nNorth Carolina.
