In him the profession has lost one of its brightest ornaments, society a useful member, and the poor a kind and benevolent friend. The deceased possessed a mind highly improved by education, study and observation; a happy temperament from nature, a manly independence and most sterling integrity. In his manners and habits, he was frank and affable, liberal without profession and dignified without ostentation. But alas! surrounded by friends that adored him in the possession of every blessing that could render existence desirable, he is cut off in the prime of life and usefulness. He fell a victim to that dreadfull disease, the Yellow Fever, which prevailed very generally in that part of the country and many cases of which came under his care. He met death with a pious resignation and composure, which is only afforded by a consciousness of rectitude and an humble trust in the merits of a Redeemer. He has left an aged father, a wife and five children, besides many other near relations, to mourn their irreparable loss.
