Died

In Granville County on the 30th ultimo, Mrs. Martha O'Brien, consort of John 
O'Brien, Sr., aged 77 years. The deceased was a native of Mecklenburg County, 
Va., from which she removed to Granville County in this state in 1792 where she 
has continued to reside and has been known to a limited circle of friends, 
relations and religious associates for the last 54 years. She died a precedent of 
the Baptist profession which she made near 30 years ago. She departed quietly yet 
triumphantly in the presence of her family and some sympathizing neighbors who 
had rarely ever witnessed such an exit. This dispensation, scarcely supportable 
by tenderer branches of her connexion, deprived us of a living example of 
goodness, christianity and naturnal wealth.
