North Carolina May Court Granville County A. D. 1845 The execution of the last will and testament of Zachariah Allen deceased was duly forever on oath in April Court by Tinsley I. Walker & Samuel Mitchel subscribing ______ thereto and ordered to be recorded -At the same time came forward Thomas B. Allen & James Allen named Executors in said will and duly qualified as such. Witness Jas M. Wagging clerk State of North Carolina, Granville County In the name of God Amen, I Zachariah Allen calling to mind mortality of a sound mind and judgment do make and declare this my last Will and Testament. First, I lend to my beloved wife the tract of land that I live on containing two hundred and eighty five acres, and all my negroes, household and kitchen furniture and stock of all kinds and plantation tools of all kinds and carriages of all kinds during her life or widowhood, then to be sold in a suitable credit and to be equally divided with all my children, but Elizabeth Pruitt's part is to remain in the hands of my executors for her benefit and children's and I also leave the tract she lives on containing 30 acres and the stock of cows and hogs and sheep and household and kitchen furniture that is on that tract of land in the hands of my Executors for her benefit during her life and then what remains in the hands of the executors to be sold and to be divided among her children. I also leave that at the division of my estate that those children that has not had shall have the value of a horse at fifty dollars, a Bed and furniture and sow and pigs, I appoint Thomas B.
