Granville County, NC - Will of Benjamin Glaze, 1781 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Benjamin Glaze In the name of God Amen. This Ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one, I, Benjamin Glaze of the county of Granville in the state of North Carolina being very sick & weak but of sound & disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament. To wit: I give to my sons, Samuel Glaze, John Glaze & Thomas Glaze, and my daughter Sarah Bond & Catherine Childs one shilling each to them & their heirs forever. I lend to my wife, Catherine Glaze my whole estate both real and personal during her life or widowhood. I give to my sons, Reuben Glaze, David Glaze & Lewis Glaze all my land to be equally divided between them, to them & their heirs & assigns forever. I give to my grandson, Jacob Glaze, one cow & calf. I give to my sons Reuben Glaze, David Glaze & Lewis Glaze and to my daughter Elizabeth Glaze and Margaret Glaze all my personal estate including my Negroes to be equally divided between them to them their heirs and assigns forever and last I do appoint my beloved wife Catherine Glaze & my son Reuben Glaze Executrix & executor of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all and every other will and testament by me heretofore made. his Benjamin B.G.
