I William ___ of Granville County & State of No= rth Carolina having at this present through Divine Providence the ___ ___= of my Reason & Understanding do mke this my last Will & Testament in man= ner and form following Viz. I lend unto my beloved Wife Frances during her natural life the Land and = plantation whereon I ___ live together with all my other Estate either Re= al or Personal with this Proviso that in case my wife should _arry after = my death it is then my will and desire that she shall no longer enjoy or = Possess the Follow___ Negroes viz Pompey, Sam & Rusena the former two of = them to go to the use of the children of my former wife, the latter to my= three sons as shall be herin after directed. It is also my will & desire that in case my wife should marry after my de= ath a man who by extravagance or any other bad conduct should waste or de= stroy the Estate it shall then be in the power of my Executors to divide = my Negroes among my children in the mann I shall hereafter direct an_ als= o any other part of my Estate that may ___ [illegible] as above mentiond.= Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughters Ursly Johnson, Susanna Burto= n, Elizabeth Morgan, Mary Allin & Sarah Walker (the children of my former= Wife) to be divided amongst them the (valuation ?) of my Negroes Sam & P= ompey as shall be herein after directed together with an Equal part of al= l my other movable Estate with the children of my latter wife. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughtr Hannah Howard Negroe Winne & her= increase to her & her heirs forever. Item. I give & bequeath unto the children of my Daughter Ann Howard the = valuation of my Negroes Sarah & her increase the sd. valuation to be divi= ded amongst them Equally also an equal proportion of all my movable Estat= e with the rest of my living Children in the manner my executors may dire= ct.
