This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: "Larealia Camp" ==================================================================== In the name of God amen I Thomas Harris of Granville County, State of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God do this 25th day of September 1779 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say first I give to my loving wife Sarah the plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred fifty acres of land with all the improvements likewise all my household furniture except two beds, likewise my Negro Ben her lifetime or til she marries, and if she marries Hood Harris takes possession if she don’t he is not to take possession til he comes to the age of thirty. Item: I give to my son Robert Hood Harris. I give the plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred and fifty acres when he comes to the age of thirty or his mother marries. Item: I give to my daughter Gilley three cows and calves and half of one sorrel colt. Item: I give to my daughter Mary three cows and calves and the other half of said sorrel colt. Item: I give to my daughter Penny two cows and the best bed of furniture. Item: I give to my daughter Ellyfare two head of cattle and the next best bed of furniture. Item: I give to my son Samuel Benton three hundred and thirty three acres of land where Mrs. White now lives. Item: I give to Jemima White the plantation that she lives on til Benton comes of age or she marries. And I make constitute and ordain my brother Sherwood Harris and my wife’s brother Sherwood Harris and Ephraim Hampton my executors in witness whereof I the said Thomas Harris have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
