Will of Absalom Hicks

In the name of God amen, the eight day of Feberwary 1770 I Abslom Hiks being 
Sick of body but being perfect in memory and calling to remmembrance the 
uncertainty of life and certainty of death, I do make constitute and ordain and 
declare this my last will and test[a]ment in manner and forme folloune I lend 
and beqwathe my whole estate to my wife after the paying my just debts and 
funnral charges as long as She remains in weddowhead and If She shall mary a 
Second husband, She Shall have equll part as ware of the rest of the children, 
being in life at the time of the marrage I choose and appoin Jecob Waddall and 
Sheerat Herris and my wife as executors to Sell and make mony of my estate and 
that the Same be divided in equll pairts among my wife and children and if She 
remain in weddowhead She Shall have right to mannage my estate as Soole tutor 
and execeketor thhe time of her life.

Granville County Ss. April Court 1770.
This Will was proved in Open Court by the Oath of Jacob Waddal a Subscribing 
Evidence thereto and on Motion was Ordered to be Recorded, then Mary Hix the 
Executrix therein named & Jacob Waddall one of the Executors also therein named 
Qualified thereto.
