Item first of all is, that the heirs of my son Jesse Meadows Deceased have five shillings of my estate and no more. Item my desire is that my son John Meadows have at my decease a negro boy named Jubal and no more. Item my desire is that my son Daniel Meadows have at my decease a negro girl named Vilet aged four years. Item my desire is that my son Isaac Meadows have five shillings of my Estate & no more. Item my desire is that my son Michael Meadows have five shillings of my Estate no more. Item my desire is that abraham Medearis is have five shillings of my estate & no more. Item my desire is that Thomas Lewis have five shillings of my Estate & no more. Item my desire is that Blackman Pardue have five shillings of my Estate & no more. Item my desire is at my decease that my son Ephraim Meadows have the tract of land whereon I now live containing One hundred Acres more or less together with all my stock of every description, all my plantation Tools household & kitchen furniture. Item my desire is that my wife Elenor meadows have during her life a negro Woman named Grace and to dispose of as she pleases. The intent and meaning of my giving to my son Ephraim all my stock, tools etc. etc. is that he is to discharge all my lawful debts. I do hereby ordain and appoint Thomas Webb and Daniel Gooch my Executors to this my last will & Testament. In testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 4th day of December 1812. James Meadows Signed Sealed and published & declared in the presence of Thomas Goodrum John Gooch State of North Carolina, Granville County, May Court AD 1815 The execution of the foregoing last Will and Testament of James Meadows deceased was duly proven in open Court by the Oaths of Thomas Goodrum & John Gooch the only subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - Daniel Gooch Esquire named an Executor in said will cale into court and qualified as such by taking the oath prescribed by act of Assembly.
