Carrington ] Richd Adams & Elizabeth his wife were married the 10th Day of April 1755 (she was the daughter of LeRoy Griffin and Mary Ann Bertrand of Richmond Co. Virginia) about 8 o'clock in the Evening. and had Issue(viz') 1st Tabitha, a daughter Born the 4th day of July 1756 about 10 o'clock in the Evening D. 17 Feby 1828. 2nd Elizabeth Griffin, Born the 17th Day of December 1757 abt. 11 o'clock in the morning. D. Dec.1832 3rd Thomas Bowler (a son) Born the 18th Day of September 1759 abt. 1 o'clock in the morning. & Died Nov. ?[28] 1794 D. 1794 4th Richd. (a son) Born the 2? [26] Day of November 1760 about 8 o'clock in the Evening. d. 9th Jany 1817 5th Ann (a Daughter) Born thye 27 Day of October 1762 abt 3 o'clock in the Evening 6th William (a son) Born the 8th of June 1764 abt 3 o'clock in the Morning & Died 5 June 1787 abt 3 o'clock in the Morning. 7th Sarah (a Daugt.) Born the 14th Day of January 1766 about 3 o'clock in the Evening. d. 30 Sept. 1806. 8th Alice (Daughter) Born the 20th Feby. 1768 about 8 o'clock in the Evening. 9th Ebenezar (a Son) Born the ? Day of May 1769 & Died the Day following. 10th Ebenezar ( a Second Son of that name) Born the 4th Day of August 1770 about 1 o'clock in the afternoon & Died Aug. ? 1771 11th John, Born the 14 Day July 1773 about 5 o'clock in the morning. d. 23 June 1825 12th Samuel Griffin (a Son) Born May 5th 1776 about 2 o'clock in the Evening Additional Comments: Richard Adams b: May 17, 1726 d: Aug. 2, 1800, was a member of the House of Burgesses for New Kent and Henrico Counties, Virginia 1752-1775, House of Delegates 1776-1778, Convention of 1776, Virginia Senate 1779-1782; Mayor of Richmond, Va. 1786-1788, a colonel in the militia, he was an ardent patriot throughout the Revolution and one of the most enterprising, public-spirited, wealthy and influential citizens of Richmond, Virginia. A warm friendship existed between Richard Adams and Thomas Jefferson, who was a frequent guest of Col. Adams.
