MARKER #1: "It being the place or plat selected by said Parrott Mewborn II and George Mewborn for a family burying ground for themselves and heirs" September 10, 1857 when Nancy Susan Mewborn (twin to George Washington Mewborn) died and was buried on the plantation. George Mewborn (first of the name in this area) Mary Parrott Mewborn (wife) born 1735 Parrott I, born March 11, 1765 Lydia Hardy Mewborn (wife) born April 26, 1768 The above families lives on Falling Creek, Institute Community OTHER SIDE OF MARKER Lemuel Hardy II 1730 - 1799 Mary Sutton Hardy (wife) Benjamin Hardy 1732 - 1790 Nancy Howell Hardy (wife) The above brothers were in the Revolutionary War and lived on Bear Creek, Jason Community Drewry Aldridge I (first of the name in this area) Mary Barrington Aldridge (wife) Drewry Aldridge II 1766 - 1840 Edith Hardy Aldridge (wife) The above families lived at Myrtle Bluffs and the old cemetery is located 1/ 4 mile across the road from this cemetery.
