Abner McKeel cemetery

Located on Abner McKeel homeplace on State Road 1225, near Walstonburg, N.C.

James B. McKeel, born Nov. 21, 1897, died Apri. 24, 1930 

Kate McKeel (The rest of this marker is turned over and buried in the ground. 
I could not turn it over. 

From other sources I know that Kate was Catherine Margaret Gay, dau. of Richard 
Bryant Gay and Sally Thigpen. Kate was born 4 Nov., 1861. She married Abner McKeel. 

Abner P. McKeel, born Oct. 22, 1857, died Apr. 30, 1928 

Daniel B. Baker, Dec. 2, 1888, Mar. 1, 1920 

William Zola Morgan, Born June 28, 1923, died July 6, 1924 

At one time Kate's sister, Ida Matilda Gay and her husband William Henry Wheeler, Jr. 
were buried in this cemetery. They were moved to the cemetery in Walstonburg sometime 
in the late 1970's.
