Decr 30th 1839 Pursuant to the request of the parties herein after named (viz.) John W. Taylor and William B. Taylor and the undersigned met at the house of Winifred Best widow of the late Henry Best decd for the purpose of dividing the Negroes left to the said John W. Taylor and wife Polly and William B. Taylor and wife Nancy by their Father in his will and find nineteen negroes to be equally divided between the above named heirs and after leaving young Tom and girl Dinah to the widow during her life to remain in common stock to be divided at her death we did value and divide the following balances of Seventeen Viz. Penny and child at five hundred and fifty dollars $550, next child Silvey at fifty five dollars $55, next Clarisa at two hundred dollars $200 - Harry at three hundred dollars $300 - Mary at four hundred dollars $400 - man Tony at Six hundred and fifty dollars $650.00. Old man Saul at Five dollars which composed the lot No 1 - and was Regular drawn by John W. Taylor and Polly his wife. Lot No 2 which was composed of Isabel and child valued at Six hundred dollars $600 - next child Liza at one hundred and fifty dollars $150 - boy Simon at three hundred and fifty dollars $350 - Girl Olive at three hundred dollars $300 - ditto Bitha at three hundred and fifty dollars $350 - man Sharp at $400 - Old Tim at Five dollars and old Bob at Five dollars were also regularly drawn by William B. Taylor and wife Nancy. Which lots of No 1 and No 2 were valued at the sum of Twenty one hundred and Sixty dollars each Given under our hands and seals this 30th day of Dec. AD 1839.
