Greene County, NC – Act to Alter Election Times, 1829 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An act to amend an act, passed A.D. one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight, entitled an act to alter the time and places of holding the elections in Greene county Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the ratification of this act, the separate elections now held at Best's mill for Best's district, and at John Grimsley's for House district, shall be, and they are hereby combined, and directed to be held jointly at Snow Hill under the immediate inspection of the sheriff of Greene county and two freeholders appointed by the County Court; but in all other respects, under the same rules, regulations, and at the same times as prescribed by the act of one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight. Be it further enacted, That the election of wardens of the poor for the county of Greene shall be held at Snow Hill, and not at separate election grounds as directed by the act of one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight, under the same rules and regulations as prescribed by the said act. Be it further enacted, That the above recited act of one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight, so far as it may be inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
