In 1844, at courthouse in New Bern, John L. Lee v. Edward Patrick, admr. of JOHN PATRICK, decd. To the sheriff of Lenoir Co. --- summon Edward Patrick, admr of John Patrick decd to ans. plea of trespass for $200 damage. Deft. administered on the estate of JOHN PATRICK at May Court 1842, Craven Co., & adm. was granted to Edward Patrick. Silas S. Stevenson's affidavit: He lives at the fork of the Neuse & Davis roads, a public place in Craven Co., & he saw an ad posted at his house & signed by Edward Patrick, admr. of John Patrick, decd, asking for creditors of said John for claims, but he couldn't recall month or years he saw it...... Did he remember that the body of John Patrick was carried by his house to the County of Greene to be buried. He said he did. Jury found for plft & deft filed for new case. Heath, to the sd Menon Patrick dated 8 Feb. 1772.
