Greene County, NC – Snowhill - Act to Appoint Commissioners, 1828 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act appointing commissioners for the town of Snowhill, in Greene county Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That William Williams, Ruffin Grainger, Blany Brand, Richard H.F. Harper and Jonathan Wood, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners for the town of Snowhill, in Greene county, with full power and authority to make such bye-laws, rules and regulations as they may think expedient, not inconsistent with the laws and constitution of this State or of the United States, for the good government of said town. And be it further enacted, That whenever any vacancy shall occur, by the death or resignation of any of the commissioners hereby appointed, the remaining commissioners shall have power to fill such vacancy.
