A BILL TO ALTER THE NAME OF HAYWOOD WARTERS AND TO LEGETIMATE HIM

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina and it is 
hereby enacted by the authority of the same – That Haywood Warters an 
illegitimate child of Mary Waters and Nathaniel Waters of the County of Lenoir 
shall hereafter be known and called by the name of Haywood Warters and by that 
name shall sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, and receive and inherit 
property by descent, distribution or otherwise in as full and ample manner as 
thought he had been born in lawful wedlock, and law usuage or custom to the 
contrary notwith standing.
