INDENTURE BETWEEN EDWARD PATRICK AND JESSE COWARD

This Indenture made the twenty Sixth day of November AD one thousand eight
hundred and forty seven between EDWARD PATRICK of the County of Greene and
State of North Carolina on the one part and JESSE COWARD of the County of
Greene and State of North Carolina on the other part witnesseth that the
said EDWARD PATRICK for ---- the sum of seven hundred ninety Seven dollars
and fifty cents --- paid by said JESSE COWARD --- hath granted, sold ----
several tracts or parcels of land namely one tract lying in County of 
Greene near the waters of Wheat Swamp on the southside of Contentnea Creek
mentioned in the report of the said PATRICK revision as lot No 3 Bounded as
follows: Beginning at BASSE corner a red oak and runs North 25 west to the
head of Goose hale branch, a corner of lot No 2 and 4 and runs with lot 
No 2 down the same to the big branch then up the big branch and with the 
lines of a piece of land purchased of ALEXANDER HARPER and one tract of J. 
P. DUNN by said deed to the DARNELL  land thence with the same South 54 
west to a pine in a small Branch, J. P. DUNN’s corner and from thence to 
the beginning containing eighty five acres. One other tract lying in the 
County of Greene deeded  to the said EDWARD PATRICK from the estate of 
MENAN PATRICK dec and known in the report of the MENAN PATRICK division as 
Lot #2 Bounded as follows:  Beginning at the beginning corner of Lot #1 and 
runs South 89 ½ east to the back line and last corner of Lot No 1 thence 
South 1 west 12 poles to a marked pole thence 27 west 5 poles to a stake 
then South 79 west to the dividing line between EDWARD PATRICK and MENAN 
PATRICK and of the DANIEL PATRICK division then North 21 West 50 poles to 
the Beginning for Twenty Six and a half acres and nine poles.  One other 
tract deeded to the said EDWARD PATRICK from the estate of PERSEY  PATRICK 
dec and lying with the county of Lenoir and for boundaries refer to the 
report of the PERCEY PATRICK division filed at the Courthouse ----
