12 April 1849 - By virtue of a Deed in Trust to me executed by JOHN HOLMES 
of the county of Wayne bearing date 3 March 1843 --- I exposed to public 
sale at the Courthouse in Snow Hill on Thursday the twelfth of April 1849 
to the highest bidder --- a tract belonging to said JNO. HOLMES - 72 acres 
--- NS Appletree Swamp adj SMITH and EDWARDS being lot of land drawn by 
JNO. HOLMES in the division of STEPHEN HOLMES, dec ---- I, WILLIAM A. 
DARDEN, Trustee as to a written agreement dated 9 March 1849 sell to high 
bidder, JAMES M. HINES of Wayne County for $151.00
