11 February 1833 - Know all men by these present that we WASHINGTON
DIXON and MARY DIXON wife of the said WASHINGTON of the State of North
Carolina and County of Greene of the one part for and in consideration
of the sum of One hundred Dollars to us in hand paid by John J. Edwards
of the county and State aforesaid ….. convey a certain tact or parcel of
land situate in the County of Greene and on the Northeast side of Pole
cat Swamp and bounded as follows (viz)  beginning at a large water oak
in pole cat swamp one of the corners of Lot No 5 running on of the lines  of said Lot south 88 ¼ East croping the road at a small water oak in a
small branch CHARLES EDWARD’S line, thence down the various courses of
the same to a short pine thence North 88 ¼ west to a water oak in pole
cat swamp thence up the carious courses of the same to the beginning
containing thirty two acres….the said land was alotted to the said MARY
in the division of the lands of JOHN ORMOND, dec being Lot No 6 in said
