Know all men by these presents that I Willis Dixon Senr. for and in 
consideration of the natural love affection which I have and bear toward my 
son William Dixon I have given and granted the following Negro boy by the 
name of Handy age about 19 years old the eight day of May last. In witness 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of January 1840. 
Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of us Wm. M. Allbritton and Blany 
Wilson.

State of North Carolina Greene County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions 
February Term 1840
Deed exhibited in open court, proved and ordered to be registered.
