Witnesses: Abra Sheppard and Simon Homes Recorded: August Court 1759 --- Bk 76, pg 259 Deed of Gift written: Deceember 5, 1763 James Adiar of Dobbs for ye love and affection I do bear unto my daughter Saraann McTire 200 acres which James Adair now lives on named Fairfields and premises, houses, orchards, woods, feeding, waters and water courses with all the rights, members, privileges, advantages and appurtenances hereby given, mentioned or intended to be given from said Adair and shall have right in his wifes graveyard and his use of the chamber closet and a room above where the fire place is in year great house and the use of ye kitchen, dairy, smoke house, quarter corn house and stable and part of the garden and ground for a cotton patch and pasture and feeding and watering of what few cattle and two horses and some sheep only during ye time and no longer ye said James Adair continues and remains living in the Government which intends God willing and his health permits to move out of this government for England unto said Saraann McTyre for her use and benefit and to no other use, intent or purpose whatsoever and that the said Saraann McTyres husband William McTyre shall have no right, interest or claim in said land whatsoever nor any right or privileges to swap, sell, mortgage, rent or will ye said 200 acres. Witnesses: John Cade and Elizabeth Hobson Cade Registered: January Court 1764 --- Bk 76, pg 261 Deed written: December 5, 1763 Indenture between James Adair and Saraane McTier both of Dobbs, for 180 pounds 62 acres in Dobbs adjacent to the north side of Contentnea Creek belonging to a certain tract of land called Fairfields granted October 29, 1755 and is to join the land given by me to William McTire and Saraann his wife. (No witnesses or recorded date available) --- Dobbs County Bk 76, pg 272 Executrix of James Adair Written: November 2, 1780 Indenture between Sara Anne McTyer excutrix of the last will of James Adair of the county of Dobbs and North Carolina of the one part and James Glasgow of the same place of the other part, whereas James Adair by deed of gift to Sara Anne McTyer wife of William McTyer August in 1759 did give and grant to the said Sara Anne McTyer and William McTyer 200 acres of land being part of a tract of land called Fairfields and the said Adair afterwards on December 5, 1763 in consideration of 180 pounds did sell to them 62 acres being likewise a part of the aforesaid tract. Also in consideration of the natural love and affection he the said Adair bore to his daughter did by his deed the date on the same day and year last aforesaid did grant to Sara Anne wife of and William McTyer 200 acres being the residue of the afsd tract called Fairfields containing 462 acres. And whereas the said William McTyre and Sarah Ann by their deeds bearing date November 22, 1764 for 200 pounds conveyed the 462 acres to Abraham Sheppard Junr of the same place and the said Abraham by deed October 10, 1765 conveyed the 462 acres unto James Glasgow. Whereas the said James Adair the grantor after conveying the land to William and Sara Anne McTyre and previous to their conveying the same to Abram Sheppard obtained judements in the Superior Court held for the District of New Bern against the said William McTyer for certain sums of money in consequence of which judgements executions issued thereupon against the estate of the said William McTyer which executions were levied on the afsd 462 acres in possession of the said James Glasgow. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Sara Anne McTyer in consideationo of 200 pounds accepted by her in full satisfaction of said judgments obtained against the said William McTyre and to her in hand paid by the said James Glasgow in full discharge of the said executions issuing therefrom and for the express purpose of liberating, exonerating and acquiting the afsd 462 acres from the incumbrance of the said executions and for the more effectual securing and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple in the land afsd to the said James Glasgow.
