Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ FROM FREDERICK LEE EDWARDS COLLECTION - abstracted by Martha Mewborn Marble - copy of originals in my possession 9 November 1800 - Indenture between WILLIAM ORMOND Senior of Greene County in the State of North Carolina, farmer, & THOMAS ORMOND of the said County and State, planter, son of the said WILLIAM ORMOND Senior for the natural love and affection which he hath & bearth unto the said THOMAS ORMOND his son as also for the better maintence and prefermence of him the said THOMAS ORMOND hath conveyed…. A certain parcel of lands containing by estimation two hundred and fifty acres situated in said Greene County on both sides of Pole Cat Swamp, seventy five acres of which land was granted to THOMAS DAIL the first day of July 1779 and by him sold to the said WILLIAM ORMOND and the other one hundred and seventy five acres is to include all the lands lying within the line of two patents one of which was granted to THOMAS DAIL May the fourth day 1769 and the other to WILLIAM SKINNER the 28th day of April `768 (except what lands the said WILLIAM ORMOND hath given out of them two patents to his son WATKINS ORMOND and except the land sold by THOMAS DAIL to WILLIAM THOMAS and all houses, out houses, gardens, orchards ... nevertheless it is the true intent and meaning of these present that the said WILLIAM ORMOND or any person or persons employed by him shall cut and take away such timber or trees from off the said lands as he thinks proper during his lifetime.
