L. RANDOLPH & wife Julia RANDOLPH to Wm. T. CONDON, of Greene Co., NC Bk. 21, p.121 This Deed made this 1st day of January 1892, by W. D. SPENCE and wife Mary C. SPENCE and William L. RANDOLPH and wife Julia RANDOLPH parties of the first part to William T. CONDON party of the second part (both parties of Greene County, North Carolina) Witnesseth: that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of eighteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said William T. CONDON, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said parties of the first part have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to the said William Y. CONDON and his heirs once certain lot or tract of land lying in Bull-Head Township, Greene County, North Carolina and adjoining the lands of W. R. BYNUM, Sr., Daniel ARTIS and others and bounded as follows: Beginning at a large dead pine on the road (SPENCER and BYNUMS corner) and runs there nearly with the known Hill and Wilson Road. S 37 Est 21.79 chains, to a large red oak not marked on the south side of the road, then S 87 E 17.92 chains to a stake in the head of the south prong of the South prong of SELLERS Branch then down the courses of the said branch to a stake. Daniel ARTIS’ corner, then with the path N 27 E 16.80 chains, N 8 2 1/4 E 7.26 chains to a stake in the path on the run of Sellars Branch, RANDOLPH’S and SPENCE’S corner then up the various courses of Sellars Branch to the beginning, containing one hundred and forty acres more or less. The same family graveyard being exception running to the cave, the above tract or land containing about 117? acres. To have and to hold with him the said William T. CONDON and his heirs and assigns in Fee Simple to his and their only use and behoof forever; And the said parties of the first part do covenant and the party of the second part 1st that they are seized of the said premises in fee simple that they have right to convey the same and that they are fee and clear from all encumbrances and that they will warrant and defend the title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said W. D. SPENCE and wife Mary C. SPENCE and William L. RANDOLPH and wife Julia RANDOLPH have hereunto set their hands and seal, this January 1st 1892. W. D. SPENCE and William L. RANDOLPH and wife Julia RANDOLPH and duly acknowledged the execution of the forgoing deed of conveyance, and the said Mary C. SPENCE and Julia RANDOLPH being each privately examined by me separate and apart from their said husbands touching their voluntary execution of the same doth state that they each signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of their said husbands or any other person and that they doth still freely assent thereto.
