From the National Archives Pension file number WC-2352 for the Mexican
American War.

Jesse Bartlett served as Private in Henry Robert's Company of the North
Carolina Volunteers.  Jesse Bartlett was born in Greene County 1822, 
died 22 February 1869 at his home in Greene County.  Married Mary A. 
Rogers daughter of Clarky Rogers of Greene County 25 November 1852 in 
Greene County.  Mary A. Rogers Bartlett was born 14 August 1824 in 
Greene County, died 19 September 1895 in Wayne County, NC.
Issue:  Franklin Pierce Bartlett b. 5 September 1853
        Apsley Ann Victoria Bartlett b. 16 June 1855.
