Farmer, William, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Born in Greene County and was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in 
Lenoir County on May 6, 1862, for the war. Present or accounted for until 
wounded at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. Discharged on January 22, 
1863, by reason of "anchylosis knee joint." Discharge certificate gives his 
age as 27.
