Wade, James Hampton, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Greene County and enlisted in Lenoir County at age 28, April 25, 
1861. Present or accounted for until wounded in the left thigh at Wilderness, 
Virginia, on or about May 5, 1864. Returned to duty prior to November 1, 1864. 
Present or accounted until captured at Sutherland's Station, Virginia, April 
2, 1865. Confined at Hart's Island, New York Harbor, until released on or 
about June 20, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
