All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Cliff Darden cliffdarden@cs.com July 11, 2019, 2:16 pm North Carolina Standard 1835 July 31, 1835 NEW COURT HOUSE The undersigned a committee appointed by the court of pleas and quarter sessions for the County of Greene, to contract for the building of a New Court House in said county, and to superintend the same-hereby notify all persons who may wish to undertake the work that they have concluded to build a two story brick house of the following dimensions viz: 44 feet long, 36 wide, with a passage of ten feet through the house from north to south, and a passage from one side to the main passage; out wall to be 21 inches thick, partition wall 14 inches; 1st story 10 feet between joints, 2d story 12 feet; three rooms above, the usual rooms for offices on the first floor; window sills, &c. to be of stone, and the roof to be covered with zinc: that they will receive proposals until the 1st day of October next; after which time the bargain will be confirmed with the lowest undertaker; nearly half the money can be paid down.
