The only extenuating plea that we have heard charges both brothers with being intoxicated. Drunkenness is an inlet to every other vice, and the man that is habituated to it, can give no security for the perfomance of any duty, or any hopes of his exemption from any crime; 'Oh that men should put a thief into their heads, to steal away their brains.'
