Coward a member of the drug firm of Coward & Wooten, at this place, died at 5 o'clock Saturday evening at the home of his sister, Mrs. Willis Dixon, near Ormondsville in Greene county. Mr. Coward had been in poor health for some time, and a few weeks ago went to the home of his sister. He was a member of Withlacooche Tribe of the Red Men, of Greenville, and was buried Sunday afternoon with the honors of that order. He was also a member of the Masonic fraternity and was held in high esteem not only by the fraternities to which he belonged but all our people. NOTE: According to the Bible Records, he died 5 September 1881
