    DEATH CLAIMS MRS. JENKINS
 
     Mrs. Buena Vista Allen Jenkins,
 wife of the late W. J. Jenkins, died 
 at her home at West's Mill Wed-
 nesday night, April 13 about 12
 o'clock, after a severe stroke of
 paralysis.
     Funeral services were held at the
 Snow Hill Methodist church Friday 
 morning at 11 o'clock by her pas-
 tor, the Rev. H. C. Freeman.
     The deceased was 71 years old
 and was the last member of the
 family of the late Mr. and Mrs.
 Hubbard Allen, of Cowee.  She
 joined the Snow Hill Methodist
 church when a young girl, and had
 always been a faithful member. 
 She was a woman who was always
 ready to cherish to the sick and
 was a great help in time of need, 
 one who will be greatly missed
 in her community.
    The active pallbearers were six
 of her grandsons:  Troy Sheffield,
 Weaver Sheffield, Alex Elmore,
 William Elmore, Grover Sheffield
 and Jim Hurst.
     Mrs. Jenkins is survived by the 
 following children:  Mrs. W. C.
 Sheffield, Mrs. J. B. Elmore, of
 West's Mill, Mrs. John Hurst, De-
 troit, Mich., Mrs. B. J. Hurst 
 West's Mill, Weaver A. Jenkins 
 of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs.
 J.  W. Ray  of West's Mill, twenty-
 eight grandchildren and eighteen
 great-grandchildren
