North Carolina Star (Raleigh) 5 Feb 1813
Died in Green County on the 15th instant (with her female infant in her arms), Mrs.

Elizabeth Scarborough, the amiable wife of David Scarborough, Esq in the 33d year of

her age. To eulogize the virtues and worth of Mrs. S. as they deserve is a task to 
which the writer is unequal; her loss has excited universal sympathy and regret 
among her acquaintances. By her death an affectionate and tender husband and five 
small children have sustained an irreparable loss, the poor of her neighborhood a 
chartitable and kind benefactress and the society in which she lived a most valuable

member.
