"A Strange Woman. The death of Miss Mary Vaughn, which a few days ago occured near Shine, Greene county, brings to light some of her astounding peculiarities. She lived within three miles of a church, yet had never been inside of one, had never been a mile from home and never saw a train. Although reaching the age of 70, never had a sweetheart and had never been courted. She owned a farm, to which she gave undivided attention, and seemed perfectly contented and happy in her possessions and condition."
