In Greene county, on the 7th of February,
Mrs. Nancy Howe Pope, the amiable consort
of John Pope, and daughter of the late Rev'd
Seth Speight, in the 19th year of her age.---
in the death of this truly amiable lady, society
has lost one of its chief ornaments---From
her youth, she lived a moral, serious life, and
for several years, a zealous member of the
Methodist Church.  At the death of this lady
a numerous train of relations, and a discon-
solate husband is left to bewail their irrepar-
able loss.  She was humane and kind to all
who knew her, and died lamented by all who
had the pleasure of being acquainted with
her.

     O, Death ! thou monster to devour,
     Unnumber'd are thy slain,
     Each passing age has own'd they pow'r
           And felt heart-rending pain.
