Greene County, NC Courthouse
May 16, 1936, David Bowen applied for a Marriage License for Thelbert L. Bowen 
and Edna Davis, both of Greene Co. Thelbert Bowen, age 22, white, was son of 
Lawrence Bowen, living, and Lela Bowen, dead, of Greene Co. They were married 
on May 16, 1936 by J.G. Phillips, Methodist Minister at Rainbow Church at 
Hookerton. 

Witnesses were: D.A. Bowen of Ayden, NC, Mrs. Davis Bowen, of Ayden, NC, and 
Effie Lee Vandiford of Ayden, NC
