Greene County, NC Courthouse
January 17, 1877, Octavus Taylor applied for a Marriage License for Abram 
Stocks and Jennie Fields of Greene Co. Abram Stocks, age 27, white, was son of 
Canon Stocks, dead, and Elizabeth his wife, living of Greene Co. Jennie 
Fields, age 21, white, was daughter of Alex Fields, dead, and Mariah Fields, 
dead, of Lenoir Co. On January 18, 1877, R.P. Hill, Minister Free Will 
Baptist, united Abram Stocks and Jennie Fields in matrimony at the Thomas 
Wooten house in Snow Hill Township.

Witnesses were: L.H.H. Aldridge, J.C. Hill, and E.S. Hill, all of 
Greene Co.
