Greene County, NC Courthouse
November 2, 1892, James A. Davis applied for a Marriage License for Cornelius 
Davis and Martha Jones, both of Greene Co. Cornelius Davis, age 32, white, was 
son of Jesse T. Davis and Martha Davis, both living in Greene Co. Martha 
Jones, age 21, white, was daughter of Aligood Jones, dead, and Elizabeth J. 
Jones, living. Both were residents of Greene Co. J. M. Barfield, Minister of 
the Free Will Baptist, united Cornelius Davis and Martha Jones in matrimony on 
November 3, 1892, at the home of Mrs. E. J. Jones in Willowgreen Township.

Witnesses were: W. E. Moye, C. M. Holton, and Jas. M. Davis, all of Greene Co.
