Greene County, NC Courthouse
February 12, 1883, R.J.W. Beamon applied for a Marriage License for Noah Ellis 
and Winnie Speight, both of Greene Co. Noah Ellis, age 24, black, was son of 
Jacob Ellis, living, and ____, dead, of Greene Co. Winnie Speight, age 19, 
black, was daughter of Wright Speight, dead, and Mary Speight, living, of 
Greene Co. February 14, 1883, S. B. Williams, Minister of the Gospel, united 
in matrimony Noah Ellis and Winnie Speight at the residence of the bride in 
Greene Co.  

Witnesses were: Lewis Speight, Robert Ellis, and Ceasar Ellis, all of Greene 
Co.
