MEEKS August 4, 1877, Cornelius Davis applied for a Marriage License for J. H. Moye and Mary E. Meeks, both of Greene Co. J. H. Moye, age 21, white, was son of Wm. Moye and Bethany Moye, both living in Greene Co. Mary E. Meeks, age 19, white, was daughter of Lewis W. Meeks and Sarah Ann Meeks, both dead.. The oral consent of Jas. M. Barfield, Guardian of Mary E. Meeks, to the proposed marriage was filed with John C. Dixon, Register of Deeds. J. H. Moye and Mary E. Meeks were united in matrimony on August 5, 1877 by James M. Grimsley applied for a Marriage License for Abner Fortner and Lizzie Speight, 19, both of Greene Co. Abner Fortner, age 27, white, was son of Redin Faulkner, living, and Lucindy Faulkner, living, of Greene Co. Lizzie Speight, age19, white, was daughter of Wm. Margret Tilghman, age 18, white, was the daughter of Chas. Tilghman, dead, and Geo. C. Tilghman, living, of Lenoir Co. The marriage was performed on January 25, 1893 by J. W. Ina Margarett Butts, age 23, white, was the daughter of Leon Butts, dead, and Dyde Butts, living of Greene Co. J. G. Phillips, Methodist Minister, performed the marriage of Fred Faulkner and Ina Margarett Butts on December 18, 1934 in Hookerton. Witnesses were: Miss Edna Davis of Ayden, NC, Mrs. F. W. Phillips of Hookerton, NC HERMAN FAULKNER and EMMA CANNON August 17, 1911, Leslie Jones applied for a Marriage License for Herman Faulkner and Emma Cannon of Greene Co. Herman Faulkner, age 22, white, was son of Wiley and Mary Faulkner, both living of Greene Co. Emma Cannon, age 18, white, was daughter of Gus Cannon, dead, and Sack Cannon, living. Levie Faulkner, age 23, white, was son of Reddin and Lucinda Faulkner, both living, of Greene County. Gatsy Stocks, age 18, white, was daughter of Chas. and Jane Stocks, both living of Greene County. On December 9, 1885, Levi Faulkner and Gatsy Stocks were united in marriage by J.M. Barfield, Minister of Free Will Baptist, at Charles Stocks’ in Willowgreen. Witnesses were: Zeno Lyons, James B.
